[Book] De Creatio Homunculus

Post by W*E*R*D*N*A »

Criticism, Additions, and better Latin or a better title altogether are more than welcome.

De Creatio Homunculus
by Torin Direnni
What we call the homunculus or Artificial Man provides a good and faithful familiar for the able alchemist. Despite his name, a completed homunculus more closely resembles the common imp or a lesser daedroth of Oblivion in aspect. May it be known this manual for the creation of servitor homunculi assumes basic familiarity with the alchemic and arcane practices of the Direnni school.

Let the broth of the creature's genesis be prepared thus:

Prepare a cucurbit flask of purest water to serve as the base for the work for the substance of water is that of primal memory. To this add the distilled quintessence of man or mer and the elemental substance of living earth. Cow-dung and mandrake root, dried and grounded, are traditional. Let also the remains of daedra, calcinated and powdered, be added before the sealing of the flask. Allow the broth to undergo putrefaction of the highest degree while maintaining constant, equal heat comparable to that of the womb. Do this for 30 days or until the homunculus embryum has fully generated.

After this time, nourish the embryum on the Arcanum of the alchemist's own lifeblood and continue the even heating for 30 weeks. This is necessary not only for the bestowment of life but also the development of the familiar bond. Succeeding this, the master alchemist must cast the proper spells of Restoration, Mysticism, and Thaumaturgy to complete the imbuement of the animus and the familiar link. The resulting juvenile homunculus must be brought up with wisdom and care until the ripening of its innate powers of lightning and flame. Thereafter, the homunculus will serve as the ever loyal guardian or assistant of the master alchemist.

Should I add a phrase about the water. "for the substance of water is that of primal memory" or some such?

Torin Direnni for author's name maybe?
