Possible new architecture style

Post by spineinside »

Hi guys, Didn't know where to post it, it's kind of concept for a architecture style slightly different than you offer in Skyrim Data so far. I am about to rework my tiny wooden house model with additional assets previously used for an animation background scene in a different project. I thought about refreshing these assets for SHOTN, here is a raw screen from TESCS:

How do you feel this?

Hmm.. to be honest, I'm not sure where these houses would be of use for the project, at the moment. At most I could see them work for Highrock or even Haafingar, after the bulkiness of the roof and window frames has been worked on. Also the textures are extremely dark, but you are probably aware of that.

Here is an update from a workflow, I retouched these house structures for a personal use and put in a tiny vibe of Haafingar picture concepts. Buildings are more monumental containing 3-5 floors. Modules allow to be more creative while decorating main building in CS.
Still in progress.

There is a very noticable relation to Impreial style though so I plan to cover some parts with decorative wooden motives from Skyrim_Data.

This updated version looks much better, compared to first two screenshots imo. Also the last building is really huge, reminds me of some asylum, haunted house or something. :-D
Nice work!

Great work. I can imagine how awesome the interiors would be. Could be a special building for haafinger and some smaller models for house's.

Good stuff, could do for Haafingar with some dark blue roof tiles and more Nordic style with the woodwork and ornamentations.

Guys I still wander around the building set from time to time :D Here is the newest update , hopefuly not to abandon... this might be fine for snowy places, what do you think? I adapted some aspects of Skingrad facade in this modular scheme.

I like it. Is it a contiunation of your fiddling with Haafingar set (I'm sorry, I can't find pictures of it anywhere, but I recall it looked quite similar. Edit: though now that I think about it, I'm not sure you've ever posted any screens other than these seen in this thread of this set :P ) or is this something new?

This Imperial/Breton vibe would make it a good choice for Falkreath I'd say, given how people of Kreath hail from Colovians. I can see it working in White Hold too, since I've always imagined these two holds would be very similar culturally nowadays.

This would be near perfect for Falkreath. Perhaps add some Slavic inspired towers and decorations.

As far as slavic decorations are concerned, maybe something like ornaments cultivated in Polish Zalipie or Slovakian Čičmany villages? Not to take this that far to this extent, of course, but more subtle decors like these could be used on shutters, doors, doorframes, columns and so on.

Hmm, not sure about that. I'd prefer the walls to be plain wood. The Čičmany style might be interesting for upper class interiors or perhaps just tapestries and such. Edit: apparently I can't read. Yes, something in that style for columns etc. would look cool, preferably carved rather than painted.

I'd like to see how they'd look with darker rooftiles, dark grey perhaps. For towers and other additions (and general style) I was thinking something inspired by these: [hsimg=]https://andrikyrychok.files.wordpress.c ... a5cd_o.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg=]https://www.visualnews.com/wp-content/u ... 00x404.jpg[/hsimg][hsimg=]http://www.russia-ukraine-travel.com/im ... obych2.jpg[/hsimg]

Thinkable, but in my mind there is a very old darkstone english cottage whenever I think of bretons and I can't get rid of it. I think the roof might be too delicate for a nord surrounding, but i rather thought about snowy terrains for this one maybe.

That's correct berry, in previous pictures I was trying to figure out something new but it was a truble, cuz my mesh became too similar to common imperial buildings. However I liked windows and maybe i will adapt them here.

I am getting more and more convinced (thanks to your replies, guys) that this set really needs ornaments, thicker piles are just not and having the shape of upper floor heavy is enough.

Yup , that's a good idea

And I am so so so in love with that kind of "festivalish" vibe of decorations of a city. This picture is actually a pretty nice basic reference for a settlement creation too, Let's just do one like this !

I don't have much to add here. The houses are looking nice so far. It would be good to introduce a new texture somewhere, if only for the roofs of the buildings to create some diversification between our architecture sets.
