Aldkarth Lowlands - Cavern 01[Worsas]

Post by worsas »

A cavern southeast of Karthwasten. The entrance faces straightly north.

Feel free to suggest something for the purpose of this cave. The entrance is not particularly well-hidden, so it should probably be inhabited by bandits.

It is in #26 in -102, 3. You can download berrys claim, as #25 and #26 are being worked on in the same file.

How about a group of former Redguard farmers turned highwaymen and raiders, after being driven from their homesteads by Nord settlers in the aftermath of Bend'r Mahk?
Not insurgents (well, in a way), more like common people driven to banditry. I don't know how we could show this in the cell itself.

Finally -- an ideal use to have those weaponised farming tools!! Hm, it's a nice idea, but I'm not sure how you would show it either -- 30 years is a long time to stay highwaymen with only a scythe for company?

I'm not particularly interested in claiming this currently, I just wanted to further the discussion re its purpose, by taking a look in the file.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. But the group could've started up as such, and since attracted other outcasts and bandits. Just a primarily Redguard bandit group. We could have some savants or local rumours say how a lot of farmers turned to banditry following the war or something like that.

I've secretly started to work on this cave. Now I'm claiming it.

I really like the twisting layout of this cave, as well as the multi-level storages.

Indeed, those storages are just brilliant! I'm totally stealing all of your ideas.

Looks great already, agreed about the storages. :)

How about rotating some bridge tiles one degree in varying directions on X/Y axis, for more rickety feel?

As announced elsewhere time and motivation for modding is radically reduced this year. But here is an update to show that this clam has not been forgotten about.

Review sky_cave_aldkarth_01

lighting: yes
gridsnap: yes
illegal to sleep: no, okay
northmarker: yes
clean: yes

- put a in_lava_blacksquare to tidy the door
- put a rock on the floor by the storage to cover a long texture seam
- Sky_Ingred_Garlic_01 not resting properly

Very nice! I wish I could do these quite as quickly. Your use of the long rectangular rocks gives this cave quite the atmosphere. Thumbs up!
I'll upload a later file with the pathgrids in as I'll do that together with the other one.
