Vorndgad Forest - Barrow 01 [luxray]

Post by worsas »

The family barrow of the bear clan. Should be relatively small.

The entrance faces southeast. You can check this thread to figure out the exact direction of the entrance.

Considering this is the bear clan barrow -- does anyone have any ideas how (or even if) this would be reflected in here?

This barrow should be relatively basic, without any of the dragon statues. The bloodmoon stone firecups with the bear head motif on them would make sense here.

Also, the tomb should not be extremely large.

wip. What do you think? Too small, too grand? Ignore the floor, I was trying something.

Thank you Berry for making a workable set of stairs in your necropolis file!!!

I really like the shell, nice layout. But I'd say don't make it any larger.

You can make the upper chambers decorated with candles and offerings, then we can have a few draugr lumbering around in the lower depths.

Muspila said it was certainly too big, so I'll axe the larger upper room. But nice idea.

Well, just that one large room, I'm objecting against. Everything else is just fine. :)

That's a good stuff. :) I like this layout. I'm glad the necropolis came in handy too.

Regarding the size, one thing to consider with barrow set is a frame rate. I know I was already getting some fps drops when walking around this necropolis of mine, so it might happen too in a cell of this size as well, when you start detailing it with monsters, lights and stuff.

I know you asked to ignore it, but this dirty floor is actually quite cool, too. :P

update

What do you think? Hopefully it is striking the right sort of barrow aesthetic. I do worry about the candles.

The right branch with the stoneblocks looks spot-on to me. I have no problem with the candles.

Nice work. I love all the detail that went into the many graves.

Edit: I just had an idea that the Bear Clan might stash some of their illegal loot in a corner of the barrow. Or would they think that would anger their forefathers?
