Seaside Flophouse South
Large, labyrinthine flophouse. Has an access on the lower canal side. Contains a hidden shrine of a Nibenese sailor cult.

Notes:

d.The normal tenants stay near the entrance, there is a locked door shortly after that gates the deeper parts of the flophouse, which contain the cultists' den and the shrine of the cult.

Bluh. Forgot I had this. First draft of the interior shell, with some detailing in the left house. Both houses are fairly ruined, but the left one has some tenants as cover. Entrance to the east house is only possibly through the skywalk. I'm going to look into making some kind of asset for the Bal cult, maybe a shrine statue or a tapestry.

The interior shell for the second building is going to be a bit more complicated than it is right now. Should be fun once it's done though. I'm working out the general aesthetic for these Bal cultists, trying to avoid the need for new assets for now.

Even more detailing. Added more rotting fringes, detailed the sea chamber, added a couple of texts (private invocations of the god Bal).

Please revoke this, I'm not making enough progress to justify holding up development.

To recap: The ground floor of the first building houses several paupers in small, dingy rooms. The stairs are boarded up so the only way into the cultist hideout is through a hole in the ceiling of one of the rooms (there's a jump potion about somewhere). The key to this room should be a quest item. Top floor and the adjacent house belong to the cultists.

The top floor is the place where the cultists make their "ointment" which is basically just fish blood they use in rituals. The actual shrine is accessible through the skywalk between the two buildings (the doors on each end should be locked to avoid sequence breaking by levitation).

The second building is essentially a hollow shell, as the cultists have broken out most of the floors in one part to make a nice drowning pit. The path to the ground floor spirals around this pit. On the bottom floor there is an altar to Bal (inert for now) and an exit which ends up in the canal of the poor quarter (this door should be locked securely, with the key to be found in the inventory of some cultist).

Cultist scribblings have been added to various corners of the shrine.

The main thing that needs to happen here is some detailing around the lower parts of the second cell. The "nautical" decor in the drowning pit is unevenly applied, should probably get another pass on adding kollops, seaweed, rearranging the bones, and more barnacles on some walls.

Potential idea: if each of the Placid Drowner hideouts in Anvil has an altar, perhaps the player could pick up some clues from scattered notes and perform the correct ritual at each site for an alternative reward (for those who favor Bal).

Guess it's ready for review. Made another draft of nautical detailing in the pit, also touched the corridors in the second cell here and there.
