Worship of Dibella is extremely popular throughout Cyrodiil, and the temple is a big pilgrim destination. Both poor people and wealthy patrons journey across the province to worship at the altars here. The actual cult is very reserved: the upper ranks rarely show their face in public, and inner rituals and mysteries are very exclusive (due to their intimate nature). Few people have ever accessed the inner sanctuaries. Currently, the cult is preoccupied with a power struggle between the old, hedonistic interpretation of Dibella, and new leadership which emphasizes a modern ideal of ascetic, perfect beauty.
The Temple includes a public worship area with shrines to all the gods, private quarters for initiates, two or three shrines for important saints and spirits, the private apartments and library of the Primate, and the sacred baths.
Interior decoration can partly be based on the temple of Kynareth in Stirk, though this one is supposed to be much grander and more complex. Dibellan decoration should use a lot flowers (especially lilies), tapestries, silk, and warm, red hues. The Temple consists of: a. The public temple: accessed by the large doors at the eastern front of the temple, the public temple offers shrines for Dibella, the Divines and a couple of saints. It is a large space visited by many pilgrims daily, covered with offerings of flowers, perfumes, and all manner of beautiful things
b. This tower is used as the private quarters of cult leadership: the Primate, Theurgist, Oracle, and their servants and confidants. The tower also hosts several smaller shrines, a library, meditation chambers, baths etc.
c. The Hermitage is home to many monks and priests of the Dibellan Temple. Most live in small cells (or in the case of initiates, dormitories). Most cells show signs of their artistic activities: painting, sculpture, silk-weaving, etc. This wing also harbors more day-to-day aspects of the cult, such as the kitchens, storage, cafeteria, etc.
d. Sacred Baths and the Inner Chambers: these spaces are used in the more exclusive rituals of the cult. The sacred baths are open to favored worshipers and prominent patrons of the cult.
