Re: Cults and Religions of Cyrodiil
I have already made clear - in this thread, in fact - that I do not subscribe to this notion that the "official" cults of the Divines would struggle for relevance in the Nibenay. The nine great faiths are all sponsored by the government, and appeal to concepts that are universal to the Im...

Re: Cults and Religions of Cyrodiil
Personally I disagree with separating them out for a couple of reasons. The first has to do with the nature of the Divines - they aren't living, active gods like what you have in, say, D&D, or even compared to the Daedra, so there's not a need to curry favor with one Divine versus another. When ...

Re: Paintings
Here you go! To be clear, I haven't made any mesh edits myself yet - these are the models that are already in data. The distortions are hard to see because the original textures are so blurry.

Re: Paintings
There's just a lot of stretching and distortion of the texture itself, and it tiles oddly so that the corners of the texture are mirrored in the middle of the frame.

OK, so I'm leaving the ones with the different mesh alone for now - but here's a preview of the new picture frames. Textures are 512x64. http://i.imgur.com/bGPEnQZ.jpg The UV maps are pretty terrible, there's not a whole lot I feel like I can do to fix them. Aside from that, any revisions before I u...

Let me add that the High Rock Is Cool project should be required reading for this topic: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dM0O4dV7lMBQjqDMLfM3MIpcISy6JbaJsBOjiw8YxJI/edit As far as my own proposal - Taking a page from Roman Gaul, I see two main cultural groups of Bretons: Heir'ach Provincia, and ...

Re: Paintings
Thanks guys :) Roerich, I'll take another look at the Ivan one - I might splice it together with another painting just to make it less immediately recognizable - we have a couple of Colovian clothing items that are directly inspired by this particular painting, so I'm loathe to give it up altogether...

Thanks :) Here's a close-up on a couple of the pictures, just to give you a better idea. I'm using a 512x256 resolution since they're pretty small items in-game. http://i.imgur.com/MKLep4F.jpg EDIT: Had some more time to work on these today, so here's a preview of the complete portrait set: http://i...

Re: Paintings
Made some paintings, as well as additional portraits. Drawing mostly from the works of Thomas Cole & Claude Lorrain for the landscapes, with a few lore elements photoshopped in, and they're all getting pretty heavily edited so that they don't look just look like photographs pasted into a DDS fil...

Re: Fauna Master List
Couple of ideas for sprucing up High Rock's monster list. Feel free to use or not :) The more exotic & occult elements of High Rock's wilderness derives from two sources: the druids and the witches. The druids of Galen, now all but extinct, for centuries ruled unchallenged in the wild regions of...

This might be a good reference for the Daedric shrines, especially for Colovia where they shouldn't look too exotic:

Re: Jiub's Projects
I thought about it, my only concern is how well centuries-old leather would hold up - a few strips of rotten leather on an otherwise metal/mail cuirass is one thing, but an entire suit of leather I feel like would be falling apart by the late 3rd Era. I like the middle set you posted though, I could...

Re: Jiub's Projects
Thanks Ted :) @Infragris - This started out for the Reman ruins, but ultimately yeah, this'll be for the barrows. Of course, that now means I have no idea what I'm doing for the Reman ruins, lol. I can easily do something like ESO's Imperial armor since technically that's the most lore-accurate depi...

Progress update - changed my plan for the color scheme, it now matches the Colovian barrow weapons. Bottom row of plates obviously need work and I still have a lot of detail work to go but it's coming along lol.

Flavor text on Wayrest
Like the blurb I posted last night in the architecture thread, this was originally written for a High Rock is Cool themed RP I briefly ran back in the day. Posting it here for possible inspiration: Scene: Wayrest Harbor; this is the 18th of 2nd Seed, the year 4E 11. It is dusk, Magnus hangs low in t...

Re: Architecture Planning
Wrote this years ago for a High Rock RP I ran briefly. Not all-encompassing for the province, but gives a little flavor: Daggerfall: The Bretons of Daggerfall are obsessed with their history, a fact which is reflected in their buildings. While most post-Septim buildings follow the architectural cues...

Infragris, with regards to Colovian clothing, is the issue related to a need for additional concept art, or just for the current concepts to be realized in-game as assets?

I'd like to help with the muskrat textures, it probably won't be right away though. Re: Durzog, we can take them out of the bestiary if there's strong sentiment against them. Mountain lions i agree we can make cooler - maybe a leopard/cheetah-esque texture and model it after the neofelis concept to ...

My thinking was that we implement these as expensive, extravagant, and exquisite robes in-game, and their use would depend on where the player encounters the NPC (one advantage of the lack of proper AI packages lol).
