Re: Region Planning: Solitude Forest

I'm all for removing Belladonna for the reasons mentioned here, and Bleakball Hay is a fitting replacement, as I've also used it in my concept of the Falkar Foothills. We just have to remember to remove Belladonna from that, too.

Re: Markarth (Sky_xRe_Mk) [berry]

Glad to have you back, berry. I agree the claim looks absolutely splendid so far. A few remarks: I actually like the underground passage in [-101, 20], although of course you may feel free to remove it as requested by roerich. I sort of agree on rock arches (although I've used quite a few of them as...

Re: Vertex color between different ground textures

Actually, vertex color as a way to simulate shadow is used in the vanilla game as well, not just Bloodmoon. An example I can think of are some of the roots of Tel Naga that have a shadow painted beneath them. In my opinion, this is a bad practice, because it does not take into account the position o...

Re: The Reach: Direnni Tower (Sky_iRe_DH35)

Roerich and I have been discussing this tower back in the day, the basic idea was to make this the permanent residence of an old, rogue-like wizard, similar to Baladas Demnevanni in Arvs-Drelen. He shouldn't be hostile initially - I'd rather like to see this as a part of a significant quest or quest...

Re: Falmer Spectre

This is looking pretty damn fantastic. While it would be unfortunate to make this a rarity during actual gameplay, I agree with roerich that the Falmer should remain as obscure as possible. It would make an encounter with this guy infinitely more meaningful and spectacular, though.

Re: Druadach Highlands (Sky_xRe_04+07) [Scamp]

Here's a new version. I have finished the top of the mesa, leaving just the regional transition between Druadach and Falkar Foothills (plus some tweaking/adding loot here and there). I've started putting together some stuff for the new region and began work on the regional transition. Basically it's...

I'm sorry if I implied that your creative freedom be restricted or that the real world should be translated directly into pixel form, that's definitely not my intention. Nah, I did not take it that way, you shouldn't worry about it. Like I said before, your input is both helpful and welcome, and I'...

Re: The snowline between The Reach and Haafinheim

Your input is, of course, much appreciated and helpful. Right now I don't have any plans to include snow on the northernmost mesa. In any case, like you said, I should take into account altitude and other geographic aspects when adding snow in these areas. Generally though, we should probably try no...

Re: Design Notes: The City of Sutch

I thought it had always been the plan to use a tileset with strong Redguard influences for the city, such as the assets Zackg had originally created, though I don't think he has ever finished or uploaded any of it. When it comes to the cities' design, we could easily get away with using the Anvil se...

Well, the idea isn't to implement exactly what's seen on those pictures. Besides, most of Skyrim is snow, but not all of it, especially not some of the holds and regions specifically mentioned in these posts (such as the Druadach Highlands).

I'm really not sure about claiming anything at the moment. Sorry for the lack of contributions on my part. Whenever I'm not busy with my thesis these days I don't have much motivation or inspiration for modding - and even then, there's still that neglected SHotN claim I'm sitting on.

Re: Region Planning: "Northern Coastline"

I quite enjoy your magnificent sketches, roerich. They give a decent boost to my imagination of the area. I'm not sure about the road berry proposes actually branching into the mesa - every road needs to have a meaningful endpoint in each direction it goes, and I don't see what's worth connecting on...

Alright, nice work on the heightmap. We'll have to see if we can pull off your new mountain proposition in a believable way. Though - if it's smaller in height than Snowhawk I assume it will blend well with its surroundings, but then again it'll most likely be a large hill rather than a mountain.

Not sure. I don't exactly remember the plan, though the maps have always indicated it. We can go with it.

Are there any claims done for the Falkar Foothills yet? I suppose not. I will take a look at your Markarth claim and the region planning thread for reference on the transition.

Also I noticed that in most cases you put bushes or container plants next to a rock or a stump, so that particular place gets too crowded, while remaining area is still unfilled. Bushes or plants look great next to rocks, but they should be also placed on their own in the grass, for more detailed e...

I'm still wondering about the ones on mesa 2, though, whether they would be yet another tribe or part of a larger tribe from Highrock. Probably the latter, since western Reach of Highrock is currently not very inhabited yet. They sure aren't hostile as we've planned it so far. I think they would wo...
