Re: Jiub's Projects

I was thinking of editing the dragonfly swarm model from Beth's bitter coast upgrade, to make placeable "moth cloud" activators. These textures could easily be transplaced to that model. A single moth as a creature doesn't really make a lot of sense, tbh (excluding the giant moth idea, of course)

That looks like a good source of inspiration. Are you going to base the model on the Anvil houses?

Guidelines for Literature

Formatting Text The absolute character limit on a text is 64,000. However, the realistic length of a book is limited by practical considerations. Most books should be no longer than 4,000 to 6,000 characters. Exceptionally, a book can be longer than 10,000 characters, though it is advisable to spli...

Re: Design Notes: The City of Sutch

It's not so much a Redguard city that 's controlled by Cyrodiil as a city that changed hands between Hammerfell and Cyrodiil a dozen times or more. In fact, it has been under the control of Cyrodiil for the last hundred years. Any problems with the use of the anvil tileset can be explained away as c...

Re: Design Notes: The City of Sutch

You really should check out the discord channel sometime - we talked about this a couple of days ago. I made a rough mockup of the site to see what kind of assets we would need. sutch_01.png sutch_02.png sutch_03.png sutch_04.png My current opinion is that Sutch architecture doesn't need a new tiles...

Re: [Faction] The Colo-Nordic Lords

I like Graf. I not sure about the Free Estates being joinable - I might have written it, but I write a lot of shit I later forget about. Currently, I think the Free Estates would function best in a similar way to the Camonna Tong-Hlaalu connection. The current idea for the Colo-Nords is that the pla...

Re: Jiub's Projects

Three pairs of boots isn't a big data bloat, though, and I would like to use these armor sets as generic armor in lvld lists as well. I dunno - I think it could work.

Re: [Faction] The Imperial Curia

WIP faction ranks for the Curia: Secutor: a low-ranked copier or administrative assistant, often used as couriers, bodyguards, or doormen. Many Secutors are hired on a temporary basis. Inductor: a middling bureaucrat rank for those who can at least read and write reasonably flawless. Registrar: a bu...

Re: [Faction] The Colo-Nordic Lords

Doesn't czar originate in the title of Emperor/Caesar? It's a bit too on-the-nose, imho. Also, i don't think we've used any straight-up russian influences for the colovians, most of their cultural grounds came from more eastern Mediterranean sources. I sort of stumble over the use of -z, which is a ...

Re: [Faction] The Colo-Nordic Lords

This was discussed on the discord some time ago, we came up with this scheme: 1. Hireling 2. Auxiliary 3. Partisan 4. Intendant 5. Defender of the Gates 6. Lord of the Crossroads 7. Baron-Marshal 8. Count-Seneschal 9. Scion of Colovia 10. Duke of Colovia I like most of these names though - they coul...

Re: Jiub's Projects

I'm implementing the new guard armors into the data files atm, and I had a question: the three sets will be named Cataphract, Klibanion, and Kalantar Mail armor, and the helmets can be named "Stirk Guard Helmet" etc, but what about the name of the boots? I don't want to cal them "Guard Boots" or "Co...

Re: Cults and Religions of Cyrodiil

I do not consider the quotes from the PGE relevant because, as I said before, the specific parts talking about this are a history lesson. They talk about the situation during the Marukhati theocracy, nearly four thousand years ago. There is no reason to believe the situation has not changed drastica...

Re: Cults and Religions of Cyrodiil

I have already made clear - in this thread, in fact - that I do not subscribe to this notion that the "official" cults of the Divines would struggle for relevance in the Nibenay. The nine great faiths are all sponsored by the government, and appeal to concepts that are universal to the Imperial mind...

Re: Cults and Religions of Cyrodiil

Related to the Talos Cult discussion over at TR, the nature of the Imperial Cult came up again on Discord. The point was raised (again) that it makes a lot more sense both in lore- and gameplay sense to treat the nine Great Faiths as independent cults who only band together in the Imperial Cult for ...

Re: Paintings

Hmm. UV fixing should be easy to do in blender - just send them over and I'll have a look. Texture stretching sound like trouble, but I'm not sure what's causing it here: are you stretching the texture to fit the frame?

Re: Paintings

what's the problem with the uv maps? I could change the shape of the frames to fit the paintings if that's the issue. Most of these hang on walls, so I think replacement errors will be minor, at best.

Included is a mesh to replace the last couple of paintings.

Re: Paintings

These look really good. Looks like you're already doing this, but the only thing I ask is that you don't add any "canvas" relief like all those screenshot painting packs seem to do. That drives me nuts. As it happens, I had a bunch of pictures saved up for this exact purpose. Probably not all useful...

Re: Daedric Summonings in High Rock

Four days might be best. The thing I fear is that, when giving the player the option to summon the daedra at any time, the summoning days will become completely superfluous: when given the option to simply wait for something or do a fun quest to attain it, most people will choose the quest (and they...

Re: Daedric Summonings in High Rock

i know that this would be a departure from Daggerfall lore, but I feel like it might be a good idea to expand the number of days a given daedra can be summoned per year. Waiting an entire year for the correct date, missing the appropriate day or just not getting your one chance because there's a thu...
